Herman Huber, Founder

It was about 1950 in the hills of the Clarion and Armstrong County line in western Pennsylvania where Herman Huber was running a bulldozer on a coal strip mine. During the changing of the seasons and from morning to afternoon the temperature change could often be drastic.

Herman Huber knew that there had to be a way to remain comfortable while operating equipment in climates where temperature changed so frequently. As the tracks of the dozer turned on the ground, the wheels in Herman's head began as well. Herman was challenged - he knew the fan had to be simple, durable, and easy to work but how could the design do this?

In 1957, the first model entered production in a small garage in Erie, Pennsylvania. With many long hours and the enduring labor and support of his wife Nellie, Herman was able to make it work. It was soon realized that this invention was going to be successful and that Huber would outgrow their current facility.

The Huber's moved to a new, larger location where the company is located today. As the concept gained popularity, additional models were introduced. After many years of dedicated effort, several additions to the original building, and an excellent cast of loyal employees, Huber has grown into what it is today.
