Components supplied with purchase of a blade kit.
Spring and roll pin kits will come with 6 or 8 of each depending on the number of blades on the fan.
If removing more than one blade (such as replacing all the springs and roll pins), always mark the hub and shafts to ensure that they are re-assembled in the same positions. If they are not assembled in the same positions, the fan will not be balanced as it was from the factory.
With the shaft partially rotated so the roll pin is out of the slot, drive the pin out of the hole in the shaft.
You may need a smaller punch to drive the pin completely out of the hole.
After the roll pin is removed, slide the shaft/blade out of the hub. Thoroughly clean the shaft and hub.
After the shaft and hub have been cleaned, generously coat the shaft with a high quality, high temperature grease and re-assemble the spring and shaft into the same position in the hub (if applicable).
Start the larger roll pin into the hole in the shaft with the split towards the center of the fan (see above). After the larger pin is started, install the smaller pin (insert) into the larger pin with the split facing the opposite direction.
Drive the pin into the shaft so it is centered in the shaft.
After centering the pin in the shaft, reverse the blade to test operation.
